Stand Out Summer Silhouettes

Micro Minis

Here is a sexy, barely there piece to spice up your look this summer, the micro mini skirt. In the early 2000s the micro miniskirt was a shocking look seen on pop stars and starlets. Some, so tiny they may have been mistaken for a wide belt. And no one forgets Christina Aguilara’s mini in her “Dirty” video. Today, this is a popular trend and a must-have for standing out this summer. Haily Beiber and Kendall Jenner have been spotted out and about, inspiring us with their impeccable street style, wearing itty bitty miniskirts straight off the runway from Blumarine, Diesel, and Prada.

Mermaidcore

Aquatic and majestic, the spring shows make a nod to majestic creatures of the sea

Wet, shimmering, body revealing draping fabrics, sequins and sheer. It should be no surprise with one of this year’s most anticipated blockbusters, Disney’s The Little Mermaid live action, having been in the works for the past few years, with a spring 2023 debut. We’ve seen the influence of the siren aesthetic delicately interpreted in the spring shows, from the literal like Moschino’s campy dolphin dress and Bluemarine’s shell bralette, to suggestive textures from Ludovic de Saint Sernin and Dilara Findikoglu. We’ve also see these looks styled with flowing “wet look” wavy locks that look painted on by Botticelli, which completely solidifies the mermaid inspiration.
